Hinoki Wood Pestles

These high quality surikogi pestles are made from Japanese hinoki (cypress) wood. As the pestles do not come with a loop, please use the hole at the top if desired to hang the pestles from a hook or install a loop of your own. Available in 5 sizes. Not shown in the display photos is the 5" pestle.

The 5" (13cm) pestle is approx. 7/8" diameter. - The 6" (16cm) pestle is approx. 1" diameter. - The 7" (18cm) pestle is approx. 1" diameter. - The 8" (21cm) pestle is approx. 1" in diameter. - The 12" (30cm) pestle is approx. 1 1/4" diameter. The appropriate length of a pestle is approximately twice the diameter of the mortar you are pairing it with. However, this can vary depending on what you are crushing. 

• Hand wash and dry immediately.
• Do not microwave, put in the dishwasher, or get near an open flame.
• Since this is made from natural wood there can be varying shades of wood and grain pattern (or lack of grain).
• Some pestles can have knot marks that appear to be a smudge or stain (see closeup photo)

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. However, due to health and safety regulations, all food item purchases are final and non-returnable.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
