Sashiko Coaster by Kenichi Ohazama (White)

This coaster is made using Sashiko — a traditional Japanese craft in which a fine, detailed thread is woven through the fabric to increase strength and warmth, resulting in beautiful geometric patterns. Sashiko comes from the Tohoku region of northern Japan, but the craft is disappearing. Mr. Kenichi Ohazama, who trained under Yoshitaka Yanagi, a textile artist and nephew of Mingei movement founder Muneyoshi Yanagi is now the only remaining artisan in Japan making textiles using this process. Elevate your everyday moments with this beautiful Sashiko coaster. Made from 100% cotton and meticulously hand-stitched, this coaster is both functional and stylish.
